About Me
My decision to become a psychotherapist was shaped by my own experience of therapy. Experiencing the difference that therapy could make in my own life inspired me to retrain and support others who may be going through difficult times.
My own journey felt like a move from darkness towards light, which is where the name LightPath CBT and Counselling came from. For me, it represents the possibility of finding a way forward, even when things may feel overwhelming or difficult.
How I work
I believe that therapy should feel like a safe and supportive space where you can be yourself and talk openly without fear of judgement.
My approach is warm, friendly and down-to-earth. We won’t spend sessions with me sitting in silence while you do all the talking, we will work together as a team and a pace that feel right for you.
I will actively work with you to understand what is happening and why you may be thinking, feeling or behaving the way you do. Together, we can identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and explore practical strategies and coping mechanisms that you can use in your everyday life.
My aim is for you to feel heard, understood and supported, while also helping you develop the tools and understanding to help you move forward and start to feel better.
Some of the areas I work with:
Anxiety and worry
Social Anxiety
Health Anxiety
Panic disorder
OCD
Phobias
