CBT and what to expect
CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) is an evidenced based talking therapy that helps you understand the connections between thoughts, feelings and behaviours. It can help you identify unhelpful thoughts and behaviours that may be keeping your difficulties going.
During therapy, we will work together to gently explore these connections and understand what is happening for you and we can then work on developing practical strategies and coping techniques that you can use in everyday life.
While my main approach is CBT, I also draw on other techniques as I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Where appropriate, I also draw on schema informed techniques to understand how earlier experiences may have shaped patterns in your life.
I believe everyone has their own unique story so I will tailor therapy to your needs.
